Category 4: Analog Trunking Scanners

The PRO-94 is one of the numerous scanners that can follow analog trunked radio systems.

All radios in this category feature:

• Minimum Frequency Coverage of 30-54, 108-137 (Civil Aircraft), 137-174, 406-512, 806-956 MHz (excluding Cellular) 
• At least 150 Channels 
• All capabilities of scanners in Categories 1, 2, and 3 including a search mode. 
• Can track Motorola Type I, Type II, and Type I/II hybrid systems; also called "trunk trackers" 
• All scanners can track 2 or more trunked systems or trunked and conventional scan banks at the same time except for the BC235XLT, PRO-90, and PRO-91. 
• Most of these radios can also follow EDACS trunked systems; some can follow LTR trunked systems.
• Current Models can follow 400 MHz and VHF trunked radio systems; check owner’s manuals for older scanners if you plan to monitor trunked systems in the 400 MHz and VHF radio bands.
• Notice:  The FCC is rebanding 800 MHz trunked radio systems, set to be completed in 2008; scanners monitoring EDACS and LTR systems merely have to reprogram their radios; listeners monitoring Motorola systems will either have to reflash or replace the radio.  If a radio can be reflashed, it is noted in the comments below.  All other radios will not be able to track motorola trunked systems after rebanding goes into effect in your area, but will still receive EDACS, LTR, and conventional systems.
